Separations with QuickGel Alkaline Hemoglobin mimic classic cellulose acetate and are the front line for detecting hemoglobinopathies. Use of acid blue stain provides excellent sensitivity and linearity.
QuickGel Acid Hemoglobin is a much less cumbersome method than conventional citrate agar for characterizing hemoglobinopathies. The use of acid blue stain brings linearity not available with O-Tolidine or O-Dianisidine based systems. Finished gels are stable in storage and will not continue to darken. With purchase of additional applicator blades, up to 20 samples can be run per gel on the Acid gel only (not AlkHb).

Controls are parepared from fresh packed human red blood cells hemolyzed with Hemolysate Reagent. They are used as quantitative and qualitative controls in the detection of hemoglobinopathies by hemoglobin electrophoresis. The controls are stabilized liquids.
The QuickGel Chamber features a cooled electrophoresis platen and built-in carbon electrodes. The cooled platen prevents protein degradation and provides crisp separations. Just set a QuickGel in place and close the lid to begin electrophoresis.
The QuickGel Chamber also serves as a dryer by simply changing out the lid and has a tiny 8.5" x 10.5" footprint.
