Separations with QuickGel Alkaline Hemoglobin mimic classic cellulose acetate and are the front line for detecting hemoglobinopathies. Use of acid blue stain provides excellent sensitivity and linearity.
QuickGel Acid Hemoglobin is a much less cumbersome method than conventional citrate agar for characterizing hemoglobinopathies. The use of acid blue stain brings linearity not available with O-Tolidine or O-Dianisidine based systems. Finished gels are stable in storage and will not continue to darken. With purchase of additional applicator blades, up to 20 samples can be run per gel on the Acid gel only (not Alkaline Hb).
