Hemoglobins

Helena can meet all your needs for identifying hemoglobin variants, taking full advantage of the automated sample application separation and staining of the SPIFE electrophoresis system. Both alkaline and acid methods are available.

Alkaline Hemoglobin

Separations with SPIFE Alkaline Hemoglobin mimic classic cellulose acetate and are the front line for detecting hemoglobinopathies. Use of acid blue stain provides excellent sensitivity and linearity. Precise temperature control improves separation, resolving even problematic Hemoglobin H.

Alkaline Hemoglobin

SPIFE Alkaline Hemoglobin Kits

Cat. No. / Item / Description

3415 –  SPIFE Alk Hb - 20 Kit – 10 x 20 samples
3429 –  QuickGel Alkaline Hemoglobin Kit for SPIFE – 10 samples

Kits include: 10 Gels, Acid Blue Stain, REP/SPIFE Hemolysate, Citric Acid Destain, Applicator Blades.

For QuickGel Alkaline Hemoglobin Kit for QuickGel Chamber, see Cat. No. 3529 and 3529T.

Acid Hemoglobin

SPIFE Acid Hemoglobin is a much less cumbersome method than conventional citrate agar for characterizing hemoglobinopathies. The use of acid blue stain brings linearity not available with O-Tolidine or O-Dianisidine based systems. Finished gels are stable in storage and will not continue to darken.

Acid Hemoglobin
