Hemostasis Controls
Controls for PT, aPTT and Fibrinogen Assays
| Cat. No. | Item |
| 5186 | Norm-Trol 1, 10 x 1 mL |
| 5187 | Ab-Trol 2, 10 x 1 mL |
| 5183 | Ab-Trol 3, 10 x 1 mL |
Norm-Trol 1, Ab-Trol
2 and Ab-Trol 3 are normal, moderately elevated, and very elevated
controls respectively, for PT and aPTT assays. Norm-Trol 1 is
also assayed for fibrinogen and is prepared from normal human
plasma. Ab-Trol 2 and Ab-Trol 3 are prepared from adsorbed human
plasma. Reconstituted controls are stable 8 hours at 2 to 8°C.
When ordering, ask about our free Quality Assurance Review (QAR)
peer review service.
S.A.C.-1 and S.A.C.-2 Assayed Controls
| Cat. No. | Item |
| 5301 | S.A.C.-1, 10 x 1 mL |
| 5302 | S.A.C.-2, 10 x 1 mL |
S.A.C.-1 is a normal control plasma assayed for a broad spectrum of hemostasis tests including PT, aPTT, fibrinogen, Proteins C and S, Ristocetin Cofactor, vWF:Ag, plus Factors II, V, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI and XII. S.A.C.-2 is an abnormal control (values < 60% of normal) assayed for the same parameters as S.A.C.-1.
Reference Plasma
S.A.R.P. Specialty Assayed Reference Plasma
| Cat. No. | Item |
| 5185 | S.A.R.P., 10 x 1 mL |
Coagulation S.A.R.P. was the first reference plasma fully assayed for virtually all coagulation studies. S.A.R.P. is prepared from a frozen pool of citrated plasma from healthy donors. S.A.R.P. has normal PT and aPTT clotting times and can be used as reference material for the following parameters:
| Fibrinogen** Factor II* Factor V** Factor VII* |
Factor VIII* Factor IX* Factor X* Factor XI** |
Ristocetin Cofactor* vWF:Ag* Factor XII |
Protein C* Protein S - Total, Free |

Quality Assurance Review (QAR) Program
Quality Assurance Review for Hemostasis
Quality Assurance Review (QAR) is a free computer service provided by Helena Laboratories that analyzes your daily quality control data for shifts or trends and establishes mean control values for your laboratory. It also allows you to compare your results to those of other laboratories using the same reagents, instruments and controls. The QAR retrospective peer reports include precision data on the various instrument-reagent systems being used.
Subscribers receive log sheets for recording daily QAR results and notebooks for storing daily log sheets and monthly reports. A guide for troubleshooting hemostasis procedures is also included. To get started, call toll free and ask for the QAR Coordinator.
