Senior Scientist - Hemostasis
- The Senior Scientist is responsible for leading a Research and Development team of 3-5 motivated employees dedicated to exceptional product development, timely product testing and accurate technical support, when required. This position is a key technical contributor in developing point of care and routine coagulation assays, quality control, platelet aggregation assays and immunoassays. The Senior Scientist works directly with assay development reagent formulation, generating product specifications, functionally characterizing the product, developing manufacturing and QC processes to transfer to manufacturing.
The position requires a PhD in Biology or other relevant field, previous managerial experience, intimate knowledge of blood coagulation and platelet function, knowledge of chemical formulation with regard to product development and familiarity with diagnostic hemostasis laboratory equipment.
Experience:
Strong experience in developing processes and test methodologies associated with diagnostic reagents and quality control with emphasis on hemostasis.
Broad chemistry/biochemistry knowledge of buffer systems, stabilizers and preservatives.
Strong medical device background with experience of complex medical device assemblies in clean room environment.
Must be able to design effective experiments followed by analysis of data.
Must be hands-on, willing to work in the lab to execute plan.
Lead role in development projects from concept to completion.
Deliver robust reagent processes to manufacturing.
Source and qualify outside vendors.
Design and execute extensive lab experiments.
PhD degree with intimate knowledge of coagulation and hemostasis function.
A minimum of 5 years experience of relevant industry experience in medical devices and diagnostics.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, team work and initiative.
Appreciation of quality process and specifications for manufacturing requirements.
Ability to think quickly and precisely in fast paced environment.
Possess the ability to work autonomously as well as in a group environment.
